MEMBERSHIP TYPES
First Year Individual: You may only apply for this membership one
time. It is for first-time members of USTA. If you have been part of an organization
or team in the past you are still eligible to apply as a First Year Individual member
as long as you have never held any type of individual membership. If you have been
an organization athlete or team athlete in the past your ID # will remain the same,
only your member type will change. Please ask your team coach what your ID # was.
Full: The Full Membership is for athletes who have already held
a First Year Individual Membership in a previous season or for a new member who
would like to receive all three issues of the Catch It! Magazine(rather than just
the spring/summer issue sent to First Year Individual members).
Family: This member type can be used for additional siblings in
a twirling family. The first member must be a Full, Elite or Professional member.
Additional siblings/family members may sign up for a Family membership. The first
family member (the full, elite or professional member) will receive the National
Entry Flyer, USTA News & Views monthly eNewsletter, and all three issues of Catch
It! Magazine.
Elite: This member type is required for all participants in the
U.S. Trials, PreTrials and International Cup Programs. All participants (even if
multiple family members) must have an Elite membership to participate in these programs.
Team Membership: This member type is for only one unchanging team
and/or 15 or fewer athletes. You are required to submit a roster with athlete names,
addresses and birthdates. The team will be assigned a Member ID # and each athlete
on the team will be assigned a Member ID #. Each athlete’s Member ID # must be submitted
when filling out entry forms for competitions. Should these individual team athletes
decide to apply for an individual membership their Member ID # will remain the same,
only their member type will change. It is NOT necessary to list athletes on your
team membership application if they already have an individual membership. An individual
membership allows them to participate in all individual AND team/group events. The
team membership ONLY allows them to compete in team/group events and the foundation
events of basic, military and presentation. To compete in individual events (including
compulsory/movement technique evaluations) athletes MUST hold some type of individual
membership. The Team membership type receives the Catch It! Magazine subscription
(mailed to the team director only), a proof of membership letter with the team ID
# and accident insurance on each athlete listed on the roster.
Organization Membership: This member type is for more than one
team and/or 16 or more athletes. You are required to submit a roster with athlete
names, addresses and birth dates. The organization will be assigned a Member ID
# and each athlete within the organization will be assigned a Member ID #. Each
athlete’s Member ID # must be submitted when filling out entry forms for competitions.
Should these individual team athletes decide to apply for an individual membership
their Member ID # will remain the same, only their member type will change. It is

Professional, Certified: For coaches and judges who have completed
USTA coach or judge certification. First-time certified Professionals will receive
a certificate and first-time certified coaches will receive a coaches’ patch. Minimum
age 16. Minimum age to vote 18.
Professional, Registered: For coaches who have not completed USTA
coach certification. Not eligible for insurance coverage. Minimum age 16. Minimum
age to vote 18.
Professional, Elite: Must be a Level I certified coach or judge.
This membership level is REQUIRED for U.S. Trials, PreTrials and International Cup
coaches and judges. Minimum age 16.
Alumni: This member type is for former athletes and their parents/other
relatives, retired coaches, judges, and anyone interested in supporting twirling.
You will receive a proof of membership letter, sent by e-mail, if one is provided.
You will also receive the Winners issue of Catch It! Magazine. This member type
does NOT include the privilege of entering competitions, insurance coverage or Professional
voting privileges.
